PHILIPPE STARCK
Philippe Starck, born in 1949, is a French architect and designer. His professional career began in 1968 with the design of air furniture. In 1974 he moved to the United States, where he remained for two years. Back in Paris, he founded, in 1979, the Starck Products enterprise, which sold the objects he had designed and produced in the past. This designer’s conception of the creative moment is that of a poetic, political, pragmatic, subversive and rebellious duty. He has been one of the first designer who have taken care of the environmental impact of design objects, always taking particular care of the modern taste. Respect for the environment, but also for the human being, functional vision of everyday objects, which are reinterpreted according to modernity and design, his creations are always essential and functional, because, according to his philosophy, every object must be useful for the biggest number of people. Thanks to the vitality of his creations, Philippe Starck was the first French man who participated at the TED conferences, Technology, Entertainment & Design, among whose participants have been Bill Clinton and Richard Branson.
