The name AMeBE, acronym of their names, Alessandra Mantovani and Eleonora Barbareschi, is inspired by the amoeba , a single-celled organism characterized by a continuous change of its body shape. Alessandra Mantovani was born in Brianza in 1983 and Eleonora Barbareschi in Tradate in 1984. In 2005 they graduated in Industrial Design at the European Design Institute in Milan. After several job experiences abroad, they decided to come back to Italy to found their independent Interdisciplinary Design Studio: Studio AMeBE. AmeBE loves to rework and interpret their ideas in a provocative and ironic way; recurring element in their projects is love for the Italian homeland.
