Loredana Longo, born in 1967 in Catania, is an artist and designer with a diploma in Foreign Languages and a degree in Painting from the Accademia di Belle Arti of Catania. Longo is a multifaceted artist who uses a variety of materials and techniques to create her works in which she tries to express a set of visions, often provocative, in which she destroys and reconstructs her subjects, creating very suggestive and scenographic works. Longo is best known for a series of works called Explosion where she builds real theatre sets that she then destroys by means of an explosion and then rebuilds everything.
